On June 19th, SPE Balikpapan Section had a fruitful virtual Tech Series session with SPE's Distinguished Lecturer Shahid Azizul Haq with the topic 'Reservoir Engineering While Drilling' in Horizontal Wells. The talk summarized the evolution of wellbore steering, the impact of logging-while-drilling on well and reservoir performance, and the real-time application of reservoir engineering fundamentals while drilling the horizontal wells.
It also addressed the deliverability of the horizontally drilled interval, impact of trajectory on PI, and steering methodology to maximize productivity/recovery and/or minimize the flow assurance issue.
