SPE Balikpapan Section successfully organized 3 events in March 2021.
SPE OASYS, stands for SPE Oil and Gas Photography Contest, was organized by SPE Balikpapan Section aimed to search potential photos for our internal use. Also, people were nowadays really surrounded with gadget and social media, thus we believed this kind of contest would be interesting.
Raising the theme, "Sight of Oil and Gas Industry", we were looking for a beautiful story from a photo about oil and gas industry. This contest categorized into two:
Accompanied by three professional judges in oil & gas industry and also in photography: Mr Pujo Rahmanto; Mrs Penny Laura and Mr Resa Boga Anasto, we chose 3 best photos; 3 favorite photos and 3 special award photos to be the winner.
With tens of participants, this contest was a success and would become our annual event.
SPE Balikpapan Section’s Scholarship for Education Assistance is back again this year. Scholarship for Education Assistance (SPE SEA), a scholarship given to all level university students. Eligible students will be granted 1 time education assistance to support their needs of books, field study, laboratory, practical work (500.000 IDR). After several selection processes, we are proud to announce 42 grantees from 3 universities (STT Migas Balikpapan, Universitas Hasanuddin, and Insitut Teknologi Kalimantan).
On 9 March 2021, SPE Balikpapan Section held a webinar with the theme Micro Coil Application – Unlocking Well Intervention Job Potential on Minimalist Offshore Platform Design. The webinar was delivered by our Young Professional Engineers: Pratika Siamsyah and Ranthoe Marindha, Offshore Well Intervention Engineer from Pertamina Hulu Mahakam.The webinar introduce the first application in Indonesia of Micro Coil Tubing technology innovation. The Micro Coil technology aims to deliver efficient continuous gas injection to help kick of wells on a mature field with depleted reservoirs and provide economic solution and optimization to address the future challenge of minimalist offshore platform design which require the field operator to improve operation’s efficiency while maintaining quality of the well intervention jobs. The event was attended by more than 27 participants.
